Financial and Fraud Offenses
"White collar" financial crimes lie at the core of federal law enforcement priorities. They are zealously pursued by prosecutors with resources to spend years gathering evidence through witnesses and voluminous records. Courts increasingly impose significant prison sentences upon conviction; moreover, sentences have much farther reaching consequences through crippling restitution orders, fines, and forfeiture of assets and real property.
If you are the subject of a fraud investigation, it's imperative that you secure experienced counsel as early as possible to navigate the initial stages of government activity. Greg has litigated all types of white collar and financial fraud offenses, including bank fraud, wire fraud, healthcare fraud, Hobbs Act violations, tax evasion, public corruption, money laundering and unlawful cash structuring offenses. He can quickly and effectively engage the government as appropriate and, more importantly, ensure that you identify and preserve any records and potential witness testimony that will be essential to your defense.

Violent Crime and Firearm Offenses
Massachusetts has some of the strictest firearm laws in the country. Carrying a gun without a license demands a mandatory 18-month sentence. If previously convicted of certain felonies, you could face mandatory state prison time. Federal firearm laws are more harsh. If you're a previously convicted felon, possession of a gun - or even just ammunition - subjects you to federal prosecution. Three prior felony convictions may trigger a mandatory 15-year sentence. Greg has contested countless firearm possession and trafficking cases, including motions to suppress police search and seizures, trials focused on possession of the gun, and challenges to the application of prior convictions requiring longer mandatory sentences.
Greg also has extensive experience litigating violent crime, including murder, armed robbery, and every form of assault and battery. If you are charged with an assault offense in Massachusetts — no matter how serious — Greg will provide the very best defense available.

Drug Trafficking / Controlled Substances
Drug charges may be extremely serious and can potentially result in harsh prison sentences. Massachusetts and federal laws carry mandatory minimum sentences for trafficking in cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine and other controlled substances. If you've been previously convicted of a drug offense, those mandatory sentences may well be doubled. As serious as drug charges are, however, they often can be successfully defended through motions to dismiss, motions to suppress evidence, favorable plea arrangements, or by acquittal by jury at trial.
Greg has handled hundreds of state and federal cases involving drug possession, manufacturing, distribution, and trafficking. Whether through acquittal or dismissal of charges, reduction to lesser charges, less severe sentences, probation, or alternative dispositions, he will zealously defend your rights and secure the most favorable outcome possible on your behalf.

Motor Vehicle Offenses / Operating Under the Influence
For many clients, motor vehicle-related offenses, such as operating under the influence (OUI), negligent operation, or leaving the scene of property damage may be their one and only contact with the criminal justice system. Whether it be you personally or a family member, that contact can be terrifying and life-altering. It is essential that you have experienced counsel in your corner. As both defense attorney and as a former state prosecutor, Greg has handled hundreds of motor vehicle matters, including OUI (of both alcohol or drugs), including trials before juries on dozens of charges.
In the unfortunate event that you or a family member is charged with a more serious driving offense, Greg has successfully handled matters involving vehicular manslaughter, operating a boat under the influence resulting in death, and leaving the scene of personal injury or fatality. He stands ready to ardently defend you against any and all such allegations.
